Jane Lin had her first indoor competition of this season at Velddriel. Together with her horse Alaska DVB, she is participating in the intermediate 1 shows. She scored 61,9% of the points, with good numbers; 7.5 points for two tempie, 7.5 for collected walk, 7.5 for the left half-pass, and a personal best 7 for the right pirouette!
Basketball (Royal Eagles)
Two big games were on the schedule for the Royal Eagles Basketball Athletes last weekend. Keus Schoonmaak/U20 played the quarterfinal of the Dutch Cup in Amsterdam against CTO. After an 8 – 23 second quarter the Eagles had a comfortable lead at half-time (25-47). At the beginning of the second half the Eagles continued to play well, making good defensive stops and offensive looks. The semifinal is reached with a final score of 45-68.
On the same afternoon, the Senior team of the FSG/Royal Eagles played a competition home game at Omnisport. Prior to the game the opponent Lekdetec.nl from Bemmel was ranked second in the Women’s Basketball League. With the Eagles being ranked third, it promised to be a close game. It ended up being a close game, at halftime both teams were tied. In the second half it was Bemmel that created the first gap of 14 points (46-60). After the time-out from coach Joost van Rangelrooy the home-team stepped up with an 11-0 run. This became the turnaround in the game. The Royal Eagles won, final result: 69-64.
Delano Merfol and his team Advisie/SSS played on Saturday against SV Land Taurus. After a close game, they needed to let the win to the team from Houten (23-25 | 25-21 | 20-25 | 20-25).
The team of WSV/FSG Academy traveled to Eindhoven to play against FC Eindhoven. Both teams are located at the bottom of the league. Both teams were working hard for the victory but the game ended up in a tie, 3-3. With this draw WSV/FSG Academy remains on the 11th rank in the Futsal Eredivisie
Goalkeeper Ilya Lebedev played with his team WSV a local derby against Robur et Velocitas. After a strong first half WSV won this game with 3-1. Read here the article in the Dutch Newspaper (De Stentor).
WSV U17-1, with FSG Athlete Tyrese Pierre, had to leave the victory to Sparta Nijkerk (3-5). His brother Jordan, playing at WSV U17-3, won the away game against Beekbergen with 3-4.
WSV U19-2, with Aldo Theny, Nikolai Hutahayan and Andrew Budiono, won their game against Columbia easily. The game ended 5-0.
Milan Beerenschot won with his team Go Ahead Eagles U15-1 with 6-2 against Alphense Boys.
Last weekend Matej Danis and Fleur Donker competed in the annually Martinez Cup in Amsterdam. This swimming meet, sponsored by a chocolate store, was the last meet in preperation on the National championships next month. Matej competed in the 100 and 400 freestyle and the 100 fly. On the fly he improved his personal best to 1:04,58. Fleur competed in the 200 freestyle and the 50 and 200 fly. She swam a PB on the 200 freestyle in 2:13,23 and she was placed 6th on the 200 fly.
